MacBook Air, Lion OS and Apple Superdrive: don't buy or try using this combination
It doesn't work.
I have tried two external Apple superdrives + an external LG CD/DVD drive.
None have worked with my Macbook Air [MBA] (11inch, 64GB with 2GB RAM) & Intel Core 2 Duo) since installing Lion OS.
They work normally if I uninstall Lion OS and go back to Snow Leopard.
I can "see" the drives in Systems Info: showing up in the USB device section.
iTunes starts automatically when a CD or DVD is inserted into either optic drive device.
But I can't "see" the drive in Finder nor iTunes.
Will try "remote device" sharing option on the MBA, to set up an optic drive link with my Asus Win 7 laptop.
Fingers crossed, but very annoying and nothing at Apple's support site, despite many reports in international blogs.

Shoes: Oxford, Derby or Brogue?
Oxford => laces tied under the vamp: "closed lacing".
Derby => laces tied over the vamp: "open lacing". Not considered as formal as the Oxford.
Vamp: => section of the upper part of the shoe that allows the shoe to be held on the foot.
Brogue: => multi-sectioned upper, decorated with perforations: brogueing
Full brogue
Semi brogue
Quarter brogue

File sharing for iTunes App: what about Music App?
So, iTunes has a file-sharing window, where saved Audio and MIDI files can be accessed, after saving them on the iPad.
iPad 2, however, has a Music App, rather than an iPod App, which I don't find all that intuitive at present, and I'm not sure whether this could affect the functionality of the iTunes App. Will need to see if the same file-sharing function is available on the updated iPad.
Music Apps for iPad 2
So, regarding iPad Apps to create music:
Front-runners so far: iFL Studio (though a little overpriced at present); iElectribe from Korg; Beatmaker 2; Alchemy Pro; and NLogPRO.
Need to work out which Apps communicate cut n paste for music files.
Also, which allow email of .wav, .midi or .mp3?
Will check out Sound Cloud too.
